Food from plants or not
We have been sorting food into two groups - food that comes from plants and food that does not. This led to some great discussions. Cheese for example - the children know that it is made from milk and the milk comes from cows, goats and sheep. So not from plants, right? Well...
Some children pointed out that cows eat grass. Grass is a plant! Without grass the cow would not be able to make milk. This line of thought applied to many of the foods that we discussed.
