Here are some snapshots of the learning in K2. Hopefully the children will be able to tell you more about what we have been doing based on these photos.
Our morning routine. Signing in.
And a variation of this with Kapla.
The 100 square has been a source of fascination this week so we explored the small 100 squares from K3 and filled them up with cuisenaire rods.
We made number lines. It was good fun and an interesting way to count on and practise writing numbers. We had the idea to make some more next week and turn them into a game.
Sorting - food from plants into one group and food from animals into another.
Construction.
Bubble painting - abstract flowers! And a good discussion about what is happening, how the bubbles are made and what is inside them.
Our beans are germinating.
Construction - 'Kapla is wood and wood is from a plant!'
Paprika playdough.
Team work to puzzle it out.
More bean growth.
Play dough and loose parts - so many creative ideas;. Endless imaginings.
Painting fruit and vegetables and learning about the different parts of the plant that we eat.
Learning about life cycles.
Karen had a wonderful idea. Let's plant a flowering meadow. We learnt how it will attract the pollinators and this helps the plants.
Meet our seed balls.
The celery experiment.
Kids look more busy than their parents at work!:)
